Here’s a treat. The word for word report…with translations.

Glioblastoma in the left thalmus and left cerebral peduncle on therapy, evaluate for change.

The tumor in the left portion of the brain that controls sensation (and other crap) and the band of neurons near there are being treated, look for a difference, duh.

This is compared to a long series of examinations dating 7/21/09.

Almost a year of this shit.

This examination is performed on 3 Tesla Magnet.

I have no idea

On 7/21/2009 there were several areas of abnormality in the thalamas and left cerebral peduncle. On the original examination the enhancing portion of this lesion measured approximately 0.7 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm. There were several other small foci of abnormal signal within the adjacent brain. The area of abnormality on the FLAIR sequence measured 2.6 x 3.0 x 3.6 cm.

Total Volume with flair= 28.08 sq cm.

On 9/2/09, the enhancing portion of the lesion measured 1.2 x 2.2 x 1.6 cm with a FLAIR abnormality measuring 3.1 x 4.0 x 2.5 cm.

Total Volume with flair = 31.0 sq cm. So getting bigger still!

On 12/12/21/2009 the enhancing lesion measured 1.6 x 2.8 x 2.0 cm. The FLAIR abnormality measured 2.3 x 2.2 x 3.7 cm.

Total Volume with flair = 18.72 sq cm. So getting smaller!

Today the common enhancing lesion is slightly more amorphous. It measures 1.4 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm with the FLAIR signal abnormality measuring 2.3 x 1.4 x2.7 cm.

Total Volume with flair = 8.694 sq cm! Kicking Ass!

There is a small focus of hemosiderin deposition within the central portion of this mass whish is consistent with old hemorrhage. This was initially identified on the examination of 8/6/2009.

Bleeding…

Diffusion images and ADC maps show no evidence to suggest acute infarction. The ventricles show no hydrocephalus, shift or herniation. These is no evidence of old infarction. There is no evidence of other hemorrhage. There is no extra-axial fluid collection identified. The cerebral pontine angles demonstrate no obvious mass lesion. The cerebellar tonsils are in normal position. The corpus callosum is intact with normal signal. The intracranial vascular structures are appropriate signal characteristics. The globes and orbits show no acute abnormality. The paranasal sinuses and mastoids are clear.

There’s no evidence of bleeding or clotting. No evidence of old bleeding or clotting either. No build up of brain fluid…the other parts of the brain around the tumor are fine too.

Impression:
There has been some decrease in size of the enhancing portion of the mass. The area of FLAIR abnormality has decreased significantly from the previous examinations as noted. No new lesion has arisen.

Colin’s winning!.
