The Sunday after we returned from Hawaii,
Colin announced the results of his MRI.
But, before we get to that
lets talk about how Christine organized this benefit.
First, she got the venue
Gallery 5,
to donate their space.
Second, the bands,
Jonathan Vassar and the Speckled Bird
and Gull
donated their time and services to play.
Third,
she sent letters to businesses that knew Colin,
or businesses that he frequented.
I had posted the letter on the site before.
It announced the benefit show, but it also explained
that she would be holding an auction and
asked people to donate items to be auctioned off
to help raise money.
Many of the businesses did just that.
Fourth, we asked friends and family to volunteer to
sell raffle tickets or work tables for the silent auction.
And it was the perfect time for Colin to announce
the results of his MRI he recieved 3 days before.
