As we said good-bye to our house,
our Hawaiian friends pulled into the driveway.
They had yet another surprise for for Colin.
What you see above is the cover a the tour guide they made,
which included 23 locations previously used for the filming.
I missed a few photos as we were driving.
But we did see
The tree Kate buries the time capsul under,
The bar Kate and Cassidy meet in,
The Aloha Stadium where Desmond practiced running,
The First Hawaiian Bank, which Kate robs in New Mexico,
The discount store Hugo crashes his Camero near.
We almost saw the Kahana Freighter Supply Ship,
but it wasn’t in port.
Below, are the things we did see.
I included the details of what episode and season they are from,
mostly in honor of the detail our Hawaiian friends
put into the tour guide they made.
Most of this information is from their guide.
Waimea Falls

This is where Kate and Sawer go in season 01, episode 12,
Whatever the Case May Be,
to retrieve the Halliburton brief case.
Nikki and Paulo also come here in season 03, episode 14,
Expose.
Keali’iokamalu Church

You know it as Yemi’s Church from season 02, episode 10,
Psalm 23.
Yemi is Mr. Ecko’s brother.
Old Sugar Mill

The used this for Mr. Ecko’s and Yemi’s village in Africa.
Mokuleia Beach

Also known as “The Crash Site.”
This is where the Oceanic 815 fuselage landed in the Pilot episode.
And, Yes,
we hammed it up…

…John Locke, Jr.
YMCA Camp Erdman
“The Other’s Village” is actually a childrens’ YMCA camp!
The units not being used by the show were filled with bunk beds.

Mildly ironic that “The Others” couldn’t have kids and they live in a childrens’ camp.

Based on Colin’s memory of camera angles on the show,
(and its pretty reliable…
…creepy, but reliable)
we deduced that this is Le Fleur’s cabin.
Kaukonahua Road

What we call “Kate’s Highway.”
It was used for the Australian Highway where Kate crashes in
season 01, episode 03, Tabula Rasa and
season 02, episode 09, What Kate Did.
Costco Waipio

From season 01, episode 19, Deus Ex Machina,
where John Locke worked at Toy Zone.
Jelly’s Music Store

This is where Hugo visits Starla. They also find a Drive Shaft cd here.
That’s season 02, episode 04, Everybody Hates Hugo.

Colin had to stand where Hugo did and listen to head phones.
Popeyes Chicken and Bisuits

They just covered the sign with a Mr. Clucks sign
to create Hurley’s employer from
season 02, episode 04, Everybody Hates Hugo and
season 03, episode 10, Tricia Tanaka is Dead.
I suppose we looked rather ridiculous taking photos
at a Popeye’s Chicken.
Cole Academy

Used for the Fieldcroft School in New York where Locke meets Walt
in season 05, episode 07, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham.
At this point, we realized we were pushing our time constraints.
So Colin and I decided to do “Drive-by Tourism.”
This is when you open the doors to the vehicle,
while its in motion,
and take pictures without stopping.
YWCA

Used as the Santa Rose Mental Health Institute, but it get better.
This building is very versitile.
It’s used for the asylum in season 01, episode 18, Numbers.
The Island Flame Station and a cafe where Sayid works
in season 30, episode 11, Enter 77.
The LA Courthouse in season 04, episode 04, Eggtown.
A Mosque in Australia in season 01, episode 21, The Greater Good.
And finally,
the hotel Ben stays in season 04, episode 09, The Shape of Things to Come.
St. Andrews Priory

This is used for a Catholic Church in season 01, episode 07, The Moth.
A Monastery in season 03, episode 17, Catch 22.
Shit. I’ll fix that later.
And Oxford University in season 04, episode 05, The Constant.
Pretty impressive, considering its not really that big.
University of Hawaii

Where Juliet’s ex-hubby gets hit by a bus in season 03, episode 07, Not in Portland.
This was another “drive by.”
Hawaii Convention Center

Used in many episodes as the Sydney, Australia Airport.

Word is they have modular columns they bring in to shoot here.

This is one of the phone’s used by Michael on the show.
Colin couldn’t remember which one exactly.
Poser fan boy.
Not Lost Related. but We Stopped by Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Place
They were closed.

But, that didn’t stop us.
Also, we learned that Hawaii is the birth place of Crystal Meth.
The “Keep Off Ice” sign on Dog’s door has nothing to do with slipping…
Waikiki Landmark Condos
From season 05, episode 16, The Incident.

This one was the most fun because we decided to recreate the scene below.

We had a different picture in the car with us for reference.
We ran around this building lining up landmarks and
looking for the plates that were in the window in the background.
We found them.

The quote from this scene is, “I’m sorry this happened to you.”
Ala Wai Yacht Harbor

Mainly you’d recognize this as the backdrop from the famous Desmond and Penny photo.

But, its also where Ben used the phone after getting his ass handed to him.
Which, Colin found.
Royal Garden Inn at Waikiki

This is the hotel Sun and Jae Lee hook up and Jin works the door
in season 02, episode 05, …and Found.
This is also where we get to say for our last night in Hawaii.
Additionally, this is where Colin had yet another surprise waiting for him…
Stay Positive. Do the Work.
