Hawaii: Day 2 – Waikiki

We were done shark diving by 10:30 am.
And our day was just beginning.

Our cousin made a great guide.
She took us to the best places Hawaii had to offer.

Beautiful Scenery

We went to this flavored snow place.
I can’t remember the name,
but its been open since before Pearl Harbor.

She also tricked into trying these spiced plums.
Its some kind of red powder Hawaiians love to put on everything.
And I do mean everything.

Gummi bears.
Dried fruit.

Apparently, its an acquired taste.
NOTE: We did not acquire this during our stay.

Here’s our reaction faces…

Afterwards, we went to the zoo.
Outside was a tree Colin had always wanted to see.
Its called a Banyon Tree.
It grows new roots from its branches,
which help support the long limbs.

This is just 1 tree.

Colin looks creepy here.
I wouldn’t follow him in there.

Okay, I did follow him.
Climbed the tree.
And found a homeless man’s home.
Found his bedding too, though no picture.

Inside the zoo, Colin reminded me not to fill my memory card.
So not a lot of pictures.
He said “We can see a zoo anywhere.”

And here we have the “Richmond Exibit.”
Note the beard and tattoos.

Afterwards, the Waikiki International Market Place.
Buy all the imitation-authentic Hawaiian souvenirs
till your hearts content.

International Market Place

By 3pm we were already on our way home
to prepare for “the feast”
where Colin will meet many of the people
who made this possible for the first time.

That reminds me,
I tempted Colin with another soy sauce challenge.

He did not accept.
But, there’s always
