Chemo drugs don’t know whats cancer and whats not.
So they go after some normal healthy cells while they are dividing too.
Full grown folk’s cells don’t generally divide often, unless they are repairing damage, but there are exeptions. These exeptions lead to unpleasant side effects for Colin:
1. Nausea

The lining of your stomach renews itself often. It makes sense. Being a digestive organ makes it a harsh corrosive environment.
He doesn’t vomit often, but he feels like he needs to. Aside from this being an annoying sensation it leads to another problem.
2. Loss of Appetite

Today is actually the first (and hopefully the last) day he actually did not eat anything until dinner. It wasn’t until his hunger was stronger than his nausea that he remembered he needed to. This is dangerous because Colin needs all the nutrition he can get.
3. Hair Loss
Hair cells are also rapidly dividing. Although, Colin says Temodar doesn’t effect hair as much, so his hair loss could be from the radiation. That might explain why its so patchy.
Other Side Effects
There are plenty of other side effects that Colin could be having, and he may still develop some more.
