The division of labor:
Colin presents the problem.
Eric finds the solution.
The factors under consideration:
1. Colin takes chemotherapy at night before bed so he may sleep through the worst of the nausea.
2. The nausea still lingers when he wakes, impeding his dietary needs.
3. Colin often wakes at approximately 4 am to pee.
4. It takes approximately 2 hours for the anti-nausea medication to take effect.
5. Colin’s wakes between 6 am and 7 am.
The solution:
A shot glass with his anti-nausea medication and a glass of water sat on the back of the toilet.
When Colin wakes to pee at 4 am and,
despite being half asleep,
he easily remembers to take his anti-nausea meds,
since its in his face and he doesn’t have to think or search.
He goes back to sleep for 2 to 3 hours.
By the time he wakes, the medication is in effect,
reducing the nausea.
Less morning nausea = Easier to eat = Better nutrition = healthier and stronger cancer patient.
Proper nutrition could, and often is, the lynch pin of being healthy or recovering to health,
therefore it must be secured.
Pass it on.
